Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects in Blacksburg and surrounding areas. You will manage daily jobsite activities from startup to closeout, guiding field teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of supervision in commercial construction, HVAC/plumbing/mechanical or MEP experience, strong leadership and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proven leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project-management tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily jobsite operations with focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Lead projects from mobilization through punch-list and closeout.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and sequencing.
• Support manpower planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate labor, materials, tools, equipment, and site access.
• Represent VMG in meetings with clients and project partners.
