Job summary

Gordon Highlander is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations for commercial construction projects across the South/Southeast. You will manage schedules, quality, safety, subcontractors, and client relationships to deliver exceptional project outcomes.

The Superintendent oversees project mobilization through closeout, multitasks to prioritize milestones, and maintains organization and accountability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience.
• Experience managing ground-up commercial construction and tenant improvements.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics.
• Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and short-term work plans.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and potential delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements, contract documents, and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite environment.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Consultants throughout the construction process.
• Lead project meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety meetings.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify potential challenges and opportunities.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable building codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Manage project documentation including daily reports, schedules, inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities.
• Communicate project status, risks, and solutions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Foster strong relationships with clients by delivering a responsive, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
