Job summary

ASM is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced semiconductor capital equipment. You will deliver expert technical support while ensuring equipment performance and safety across customer sites worldwide.

This role requires 5+ years of field experience, ability to read schematics, and hands-on use of oscilloscopes and DVMs. Expect 25–75% travel domestically and internationally; shifts may vary.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent military training.
• 5+ years of field service or related experience supporting complex capital equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with microprocessor‑controlled electro‑mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electro‑mechanical schematics and drawings.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, installations, repairs, and system diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters (DVMs), and other diagnostic tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and thrive in a team environment.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a positive, professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, perform preventive maintenance, and repair complex semiconductor capital equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical, and software issues in customer environments.
• Provide timely technical support while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
• Interpret schematics, drawings, and documentation to diagnose issues.
• Support equipment upgrades and process improvements.
• Document service actions and findings thoroughly.
• Collaborate with engineering, support, and customer teams to resolve issues.
• Adhere to safety procedures in semiconductor facilities.
• Travel domestically and internationally (25%-75%) to support installations and service.
