Job summary

ASM is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and decommission semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites in the United States. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and implement action plans to maximize equipment uptime.

You will work closely with ASM support and engineering teams, travel up to 75% domestically and internationally, and maintain comprehensive service documentation while ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of field service or semiconductor equipment experience.
• Strong troubleshooting of microprocessor‑controlled electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical, electronic, and electromechanical schematics.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, installations, repairs, and diagnostics.
• Proficient with oscilloscopes and Digital Volmeters (DVMs).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, startup, checkout, and decommission ASM capital equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and electromechanical issues.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate equipment issues and develop corrective actions.
• Implement engineering changes and equipment upgrades as required.
• Respond to customer equipment issues with timely, accurate technical solutions.
• Collaborate with ASM support, engineering, and customers to resolve performance issues.
• Maintain detailed service documentation, maintenance records, and parts usage records.
• Prepare and communicate daily status updates, pass‑down reports, and escalations.
• Share lessons learned and troubleshooting findings with internal stakeholders.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional service delivery and proactive communication.
• Follow ASM safety procedures and wear required PPE in cleanrooms.
• Travel domestically and internationally (25–75%) as needed.
