Job summary

ASM International is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites. You will diagnose complex issues and deliver responsive service, documenting findings accurately and collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Support and R&D teams.

Ideal candidates bring mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to travel to customer sites, and a customer‑first mindset.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work in semiconductor environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, qualify, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair advanced semiconductor capital equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, vacuum, robotics, software, and process-related system issues.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Document service activities, maintenance actions, and technical findings accurately.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Support, and R&D teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Support equipment upgrades, process improvements, and new technology introductions.
• Drive customer satisfaction through strong communication, technical expertise, and operational excellence.
• For senior/manager roles, mentor team members and lead escalations.
