Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is seeking a Senior Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our packaging equipment. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to work independently in customer environments.

You will train customers, document service activities, and communicate recommendations while upholding safety standards. 70–80% domestic travel is expected; occasional international travel may occur.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of mechanical, maintenance or field service experience.
• Solid knowledge of electrical systems and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and manage service activities with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements and site safety procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Moderate proficiency with MS Office and digital reporting systems.
• Ability to travel extensively and adapt to changing schedules.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot Smurfit Westrock equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and resolve them efficiently.
• Perform routines like audits and preventative maintenance.
• Train customer operators on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Communicate repairs and provide maintenance recommendations.
• Complete service reports, documentation, and expense reporting.
• Update Service Management on status and recommendations.
• Adhere to safety standards and company service targets.
• Support customer operations with professional technical expertise.
