Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking a full-time, experienced Field Service Technician to service heavy diesel truck, construction, power generation and agricultural equipment. You will diagnose and repair complex systems, respond to customer needs, and maintain a professional service vehicle and workspace.

The role requires a 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in diesel repair, and the ability to work independently with strong troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable mechanic experience.
• 5+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably with field experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, electrical and fuel systems; CAT equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs Caterpillar equipment including heavy construction equipment and power generation in the area.
• Responds to customer needs promptly; company truck provided.
• Maintains safety procedures and a clean, professional service vehicle and work area.
• Maintains paperwork and communicates job status to supervisor; ensures timely billing and closeouts.
• Willing to respond to after-hour emergency calls and identify parts needs for inventory.
