Job summary

Rivian in New Jersey seeks an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to lead advanced vehicle diagnostics and repairs at service centers or in the field. You will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvement, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues efficiently.

This role requires strong HV and network electronics knowledge, travel to remote locations as needed, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years of automotive repair experience with bumper-to-bumper diagnostics.
• 3–8+ years working on high voltage (HV) systems and HV diagnostics.
• Leadership or supervisory experience (e.g., Shop Foreman, Team Lead).
• Willingness to travel to regional locations and production plants.
• Proficient in Windows/Mac environments and work order systems.
• State mechanic certifications as required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and repairs in service centers and field locations.
• Provide high-level remote diagnostics and guidance to field teams.
• Coach and mentor junior technicians and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Utilize specialized diagnostic tools (PICO-Scope, PCAN, etc.) to resolve HV and network faults.
• Conduct road tests to verify repair quality and drive standardization across workflows.
• Oversee complex parts operations including ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Document cases and provide root-cause analysis and feedback to engineering and leadership.
• Engage professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
