Wärtsilä North America is seeking a Field Service Superintendent – Energy to lead complex mechanical field service activities at customer power plants across Texas and beyond. You will manage on-site execution, oversee engine overhauls, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires extensive travel (approximately 85%), a BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, and strong leadership, troubleshooting, and customer-facing skills to deliver reliable energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in power generation field service, particularly with reciprocating engines.
• Proven hands-on experience with engine overhauls and major mechanical repairs.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex mechanical environments.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel extensively as required.

Responsabilités

• Lead and execute major mechanical overhauls, including full engine disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of 4-stroke reciprocating engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform complex troubleshooting of mechanical and operational issues at customer power plants, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Act as Superintendent for complex service projects, coordinating Service Engineers, Technicians, and field resources.
• Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers during service execution, leading technical discussions and managing expectations.
• Prepare detailed Service Work Reports with findings, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Provide progress updates on assigned work and follow up on work order status.
• Support New Build and Commissioning activities, ensuring smooth transition from installation to operation.
• Ensure all work complies with QHSE guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Identify improvement opportunities and apply best practices to enhance service execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
