Job summary

Wärtsilä North America is seeking a Field Service Superintendent – Energy to lead major mechanical overhauls and on-site execution at customer power plants in Texas and beyond. You will act as the senior technical authority, coordinate field resources, ensure safety and quality, and support New Build and Commissioning teams.

Qualifications

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Extensive power generation field service experience with reciprocating engines.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in mechanical environments.
• Ability to lead complex service projects and coordinate field resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute major mechanical overhauls, including full engine disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of 4‑stroke reciprocating engines and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform complex and advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and operational issues at customer power plants, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Act as Superintendent for complex service projects, leading on-site execution and coordinating Service Engineers, Technicians, and other field resources.
• Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers during service execution, leading technical discussions and managing expectations.
• Prepare detailed Service Work Reports, including findings, analysis, conclusions, and technical recommendations.
• Provide internal and external progress updates on assigned work and follow up on work order status.
• Support New Build and Commissioning activities as required, ensuring smooth transition from installation to operation.
• Ensure all work is executed in compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) guidelines and customer site procedures.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and apply best practices to enhance service execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
