Redwood Materials is seeking a Senior Manager, Field Service Engineering & Technical Operations to build and scale the Service Engineering department for our BESS product line. You will transition the team from escalation support to a high-performing organization, owning the boundary between field operations and core engineering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electromechanical or renewable energy infrastructure.
• 3+ years in engineering management or team lead role.
• Deep knowledge of BESS architecture: EMS, BMS, PCS, protection, thermal controls.
• Experience designing and managing escalation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, mentor, and scale a multi-tiered service engineering team.
• Define SLAs, handoff criteria, and escalation thresholds between teams.
• Lead root-cause investigations across electrical, thermal, controls, software, PCS.
• Translate field telemetry into actionable product requirements.
• Oversee development of service documentation and training programs.
