Job summary

Redwood Materials is expanding its Field Service Engineering & Technical Operations to build a scalable Service Engineering function for its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) line. You will bridge field operations with core engineering, establishing Tier-2/3 support and robust O&M handoffs, driving root-cause fixes into product design.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in electromechanical or energy infra, plus 3+ years in engineering management, and deep BESS/EMS/BMS/PCS experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electromechanical, power electronics, or renewable energy infra (BESS, solar, grid-scale).
• 3+ years in direct engineering management or team lead role.
• Experience designing structured escalation models from Tier-1 to Product Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale the Service Engineering department for the BESS product line.
• Own the boundary between field operations and core engineering; establish tier-2/3 support.
• Define O&M handoff protocols; drive root-cause engineering into product design.
• Lead complex technical investigations across electrical, thermal, software, and PCS.
