Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. seeks a Level 5 Switchgear Field Engineer to lead complex field service activities for MV/HV switchgear systems.

You will act as a technical authority on installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modernization on-site with customers and project teams. You will mentor junior engineers, drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and manage documentation such as test records and commissioning checklists.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of MV/HV switchgear field experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to travel 50–80% and lead field crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead field installation, commissioning, and service for switchgear systems.
• Plan and perform advanced diagnostics for protection/control issues.
• Execute protection relay commissioning and end-to-end verification.
• Produce high-quality field service reports, test records, and punch lists.
• Mentor junior engineers/technicians and coordinate with customers.
