Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking an experienced Field Engineer 3 (FE3) to support our Patient Care Solutions (PCS) in Southern Wisconsin, with the Madison area preferred. The role covers installation, maintenance, and optimization of complex medical equipment at customer sites.

The FE3 team member serves as a technical resource and customer advocate, driving service quality, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction while mentoring less experienced engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 4+ years of electrical equipment service.
• Or equivalent military education with 4+ years of electrical equipment service.
• Or High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of electrical equipment service.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair on assigned equipment.
• May also perform installation, validation and maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Lead, instruct, and assist less experienced Field Engineers and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
• Lead communications with customers and serve as escalation point for customer‑related concerns including installs.
• Own customer issues from dispatch or identification of issue to resolution.
• Proactively engage with other team members to ensure status of all issues is known.
• Lead and communicate HQ and Zone or Area‑level initiatives.
• Co‑lead regular team or modality meetings as required.
• Partner with the customer and recommend value‑added services to improve efficiency.
• Keep up to date with administrative responsibilities such as logs, parts ordering, and cycle times.
• Utilize escalation processes and work with support to resolve issues promptly.
• Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
• Serve as a member of the account community for key accounts.
• Engage with Commercial Sales teams and leadership to support growth.
• Align with customer needs and strengthen the business relationship.
• Keep informed on competitor information and market trends.
• Demonstrate strong commercial acumen.
• Assist with growth/deployment strategies.
• May include application training of clinical or scientific staff.
