Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer III based in Sugar Land, Texas, with travel required domestically and internationally.

You will own the most complex installations and customer escalations for Ion Beam Deposition systems, providing expert technical leadership and durable fixes. You will work across vacuum, motion, electronics, controls, and software domains, delivering reliable system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of hands-on field service in semiconductor capital equipment.
• Experience with vacuum-based systems in cleanroom environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate standard tools.

Responsibilities

• Own high‑complexity installations, upgrades, and escalations for Ion Beam Deposition systems.
• Diagnose and resolve multi‑discipline failures spanning vacuum, electronics, and software.
• Lead corrective actions and feed learning back to engineering and support teams.
• Act as on‑site escalation authority and advise customers on system optimization.
• Produce clear service documentation to reduce repeat escalations.
