Job summary

Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support customer deployment, qualification, and production ramp of Veeco's ion beam deposition systems.

This role combines process knowledge, equipment troubleshooting, and customer-facing communication to ensure successful adoption in manufacturing environments. Based in Sugar Land, TX with 75% travel, you will lead process qualification, transfer from development to customer operations, and deliver training while collaborating

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting semiconductor, optical coating, thin-film deposition, vacuum processes or related manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues independently.
• Experience working with customers in technical support, applications engineering, process engineering, or field engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead process qualification and acceptance activities at customer sites.
• Support transfer of processes from development to customer manufacturing environments.
• Perform data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot process, hardware, and system performance issues with cross-functional teams.
• Provide customer training on equipment operation, processes, and maintenance procedures.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and qualification reports.
• Collaborate with applications engineering, product management, and service teams to ensure customer success.
