Job summary

Burkert USA Corp seeks an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and calibrate valves and instrumentation at pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial sites. You will perform startup checks, document results, and ensure customer sign-off in compliance with GMP/ASME BPE where applicable.

The role requires 5+ years in field service, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to travel up to 60% across the United States, with a base in the Charlotte office for internal service

Qualifications

• 5+ years in field service, instrumentation service, or hands-on maintenance/engineering in process industries.
• Experience with on-site installation, commissioning, and repair of valves, instrumentation, or automation equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting on electro-pneumatic systems, sensors, and control loops.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with QA/Validation teams.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission Bürkert valves, actuators, manifolds, instrumentation, and control systems at pharma, biotech, food & beverage, and industrial sites.
• Perform startup checks, loop checks, system verification, and functional testing per procedures and standards.
• Configure, calibrate, and parameterize devices to customer specs on-site with verification against references.
• Document commissioning activities and provide handover, test records, and customer sign-off.
• Travel to customer sites nationwide up to 60% and collaborate with service management.
