Job summary

CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, seeks a Senior Recruiter, Talent Acquisition to shape our workforce by driving full‑cycle recruiting strategies across multiple markets and delivering an exceptional candidate experience.

You will lead innovative sourcing, partner with hiring managers and leaders, build talent pipelines, and act as a trusted advisor from role intake through offers to help CarMax attract top talent.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience within the last 5 years.
• Experience supporting recruiting for a variety of roles and partnering with senior leaders.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
• Excellent communication across messaging, phone, email and in-person interactions.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
• Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and structured workflows.
• Expertise in sourcing and engaging passive candidates through multiple channels.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and clear communication in all interactions.
• Flexibility to work across different time zones if needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategic recruiting plans including proactive sourcing methods.
• Independently manage the hiring strategy from posting to offer delivery.
• Serve as primary point of contact for candidates and hiring managers at all levels.
• Support executive-level hiring managers in strategy and execution.
• Guide structured interview and selection practices for consistency and fairness.
• Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future needs.
• Participate in recruiting events to strengthen CarMax’s employer brand.
• Collaborate with leadership to resolve challenges and improve recruiting efficiency.
