Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Field Quality Engineer (Powertrain) to own investigations of customer-facing powertrain issues, focusing on electric drive units, motors, inverters, and high-voltage systems. You will drive root-cause analysis and permanent corrective actions across design, manufacturing, and service to safeguard the customer fleet.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in electric vehicle powertrain engineering, field quality, product quality, reliability, or related technical discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience resolving customer-facing EV powertrain issues and leading structured investigations.
• Ability to read/write/speak English at a professional level.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end investigations of customer-facing powertrain concerns from signal to root cause.
• Use diagnostics and vehicle data to identify root causes and recommend corrective action.
• Drive permanent solutions across design, controls, manufacturing, and service.
• Analyze warranty claims, telematics, logs, and feedback to identify failure modes and prioritize responses.
• Quantify issue frequency, severity, and cost to support escalation decisions.
• Define validation plans and acceptance criteria to prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Reliability, Service, and Warranty.
