Job summary

Viavi Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to provide dedicated on-site technical support and expertise to key customers.

This role ensures optimal performance of Viavi's network testing and monitoring solutions within the customer's environment. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 5+ years in network engineering or technical support, and hands-on experience with Viavi tools such as Observer, ONMS, Fusion, and CellAdvisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years in network engineering, operations, or technical support.
• In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF and network architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Viavi tools and products is preferred.
• Certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP/JNCIS/JNCIP) are a plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally for training or customer activities.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact for Viavi products at the customer site.
• Provide proactive and reactive technical support and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with customer teams to understand network architecture and requirements.
• Assist with deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Viavi solutions.
• Conduct training and knowledge transfer to customer personnel.
• Generate reports on system performance and utilization with actionable insights.
• Participate in customer planning meetings and inform product roadmaps.
• Escalate complex issues to Viavi engineering and product teams as needed.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering timely, high-quality support.
