Job summary

Terracon is seeking an experienced field technician to perform testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials on active sites in Alabama. You will communicate results to project managers, prepare reports, and manage samples and equipment with strict safety practices.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3-5 years of relevant experience, ability to use Word/Excel, and a valid driver's license. Certifications in NICET, ICC, AWS CWI, and ASNT II are preferred for advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent training.
• Experience with laptop use and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials.
• Communicate with project manager, clients, and contractors regarding requirements and results.
• Transport material samples to the laboratory with documentation.
• Prepare data and observations in reports for daily submission to the Project Manager.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas.
• Adhere to strict safety standards on all projects.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Lead or train lower level technicians when needed.
• Maintain calibration of equipment and ensure quality standards.
