Job summary

Fairfax County Public Schools is seeking an IT Systems Lead to install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of information technology systems across school facilities. This role requires hands-on leadership of technicians and coordination across multiple projects.

You will diagnose complex electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure timely repairs while keeping detailed records and reporting to management.

Qualifications

• Requires leadership in multiple projects.
• Ability to read, interpret and explain instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong record keeping with desktop software.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as working leader and field expert for one or more disciplines.
• Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on IT systems and equipment.
• Oversee teams and participate in special projects.
• Visit schools for maintenance and conferencing with staff.
• Maintain records and reports of work performed.
