Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Three (3) years of experience in operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of HVAC operating systems, equipment, tools, and procedures.
• Mechanical ability.
• Ability to inspect, diagnose problems, and make repairs or request to appropriate mechanics.
• Ability to maintain logs and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and conducts inspections of gauges, meters, controls, and HVAC equipment; prepares inspection reports.
• Adjusts, services, repairs, and replaces filters to ensure optimum efficiency.
• Coordinates with school admins and staff for energy-efficient operation of systems.
• Inspects and performs routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs to plumbing and electrical systems.
• Assists with orientation and training of staff in operation of mechanical equipment.
• Performs or assists with emergency repairs as required.
• Conducts systematic inspections of schools in the region and assists building supervisors with maintenance activities.
• Maintains logs and writes reports as required.
• May request and work with maintenance staff in regular or emergency situations.
• Performs related duties as required.
