Job summary

STV is seeking a Sr. Field Inspector to join the firm based in our New York City, NY offices. The role will report to Field offices and requires the flexibility to work swing, night, or weekend shifts.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background with 10+ years of construction supervision/inspection, and prior experience with rail, tunnels, structural work, or substations. NICET/ACI certifications are preferred, and a TWIC/SWAC background check is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of construction supervision/inspection experience.
• Rail, tunnel, structural, station experience preferred.
• Experience with substations preferred.
• NICET, ACI, etc. advanced certifications preferred.
• Able to pass TWIC and/or SWAC background checks at a high level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on existing conditions, work performed, and completed work for quality, completeness, and accuracy.
• Prepare written documentation: daily reports, inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work.
• Review and mark plans and specifications to ensure compliance with the work performed.
• Observe work conditions for compliance with safety regulations.
• Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and follow through on projects to successful completion.
• Communicate with various parties on the progress of the work in a timely manner.
• Other related duties and tasks as required.
