Job summary

UL, LLC is seeking a seasoned Field Engineering professional for a home-based role covering Chicago and Northbrook, IL, with potential for other locations based on experience. Travel to client sites for on-site product evaluations is required.

You will develop UL requirements, test methods, and test equipment for complex products under conformity standards. The role demands an engineering degree, eight years' related experience, and strong knowledge of NEC and Building Codes.

Qualifications

• Engineering/technology degree from an accredited university.
• Expert knowledge of Building Codes, NEC, Field evaluations, conformity standards and the NEC.
• Eight years of directly related experience.
• Experience with Electrical Test Equipment and conducting electrical tests.
• University degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from ABET accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Owns project scope and develops a plan of investigation with travel to on-site product evaluations.
• Communicates with clients and AHJs to explain UL procedures and requirements.
• Resolves complex client issues and provides technical assistance on product evaluations and plans review.
• Represents UL at meetings and gives presentations on code and certification topics.
• Plans, conducts and supervises code and regulatory projects of major magnitude.
