Job summary

SGS is seeking a Senior Field Evaluation Engineer to lead complex field evaluation projects, assess electrical equipment for compliance with codes and standards, and provide guidance to customers and regulators.

The role requires strong engineering expertise, customer engagement, and travel to customer sites, with frequent on-site evaluations across industrial and commercial technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 3-8 years of field evaluations, product safety engineering, electrical inspections or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex field evaluation projects from initiation through final reporting and approval.
• Determine scope, methodology, testing requirements, and documentation needs based on design and standards.
• Conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment and control systems to assess compliance with safety requirements.
• Interpret and apply NEC, NFPA and other codes to equipment.
• Develop evaluation plans and acceptance criteria for non-standard products.
