Job summary

SGS is seeking a Senior Field Evaluation Engineer to lead independent, complex field projects and assess electrical equipment for compliance. You will guide customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders while traveling to customer sites.

The ideal candidate combines engineering expertise with hands-on field experience, strong communication, and a deep understanding of safety requirements and regulatory standards. Remote work with extensive travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA, and electrical codes.
• Experience in regulatory and conformity assessment processes.
• Ability to manage complex technical projects and customer relationships.
• Experience conducting electrical testing with standard equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex field evaluation projects from initiation to final reporting.
• Determine scope, testing requirements, and documentation based on standards.
• Perform on-site evaluations of electrical equipment and systems for compliance.
• Interpret electrical codes and safety standards for diverse equipment.
• Develop evaluation plans and acceptance criteria for non-standard products.
