Job summary

Kroll is seeking a Field Engineer to deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, UPS systems, and desktop hardware in client environments. The role requires hands-on implementation, testing, and on-site problem solving in a fast-paced setting.

You will lead technical direction, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless project execution, equipment delivery, and reliable IT operations for our customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field; or 8–10 years of related experience.
• 8+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs.
• Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP.
• Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
• Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems.
• Working knowledge of CAT5/CAT6 cables and connectors.
• Knowledge of servers, routers, edge switches, and desktop hardware.
• Experience using Remedy, Visio, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform the physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• Install equipment (with racks if needed).
• Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers.
• Install and connect cables.
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment.
• Troubleshoot desktop and network issues with appropriate groups.
• Serve as liaison between site and technical business area for IT issues and upgrades.
• Build workstations per established procedures.
• Manage software and hardware support as needed.
• Maintain access control and user accounts.
• Monitor server activities and provide advanced technical support.
• Maintain operational status of phone systems.
• After hours response/resolution for technical issues.
