Job summary

Core One in Sterling, VA, is seeking a Field Engineer to deploy, configure, and sustain network and systems infrastructure across the United States. The role often requires being the sole on-site technical presence, diagnosing issues and coordinating with remote engineers to meet deployment timelines.

Responsibilities include site surveys, rack and configure hardware, establish VPNs, manage Windows and Linux servers, and ensure security baselines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of field operations, IT infrastructure, or systems and network administration.
• Hands-on experience with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Proficient Windows and Linux administration and virtualization.
• Willingness to travel across the United States; valid driver's license and passport.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and sustain network and systems infrastructure at customer sites across the United States.
• Serve as on-site technical point of contact during deployments and coordinate with remote engineering staff.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking gear, establish VPNs and site connectivity.
• Install and manage Windows and Linux servers, virtualization hosts, and endpoint tooling.
• Document installations, create runbooks, and ensure security baselines.
