Databricks seeks a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to partner with customers, architect and deliver production‑grade data and AI solutions on the Databricks platform.

You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end‑to‑end systems across data engineering, AI, and application development. The role is customer‑facing and hands‑on, requiring strong engineering skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable implementations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, analytics, or software engineering.
• Comfortable coding in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spark runtime internals.

Responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade solution delivery including reference architectures and data ingestion.
• Architect and design secure, scalable end‑to‑end data and AI systems across customer engagements.
• Embed with customer teams to drive adoption, gather feedback, and ensure measurable outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align on delivery and roadmaps.
• Travel to customers up to 20% of the time.
