Job summary

ECS Limited is seeking a certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Senior Field Technician I to join our Lubbock team. You’ll perform field tests, sampling, inspection, and reporting for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel projects.

The role requires physical stamina, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to obtain/maintain certifications; you’ll work with experienced project managers and site contractors to ensure quality and safety on site.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have and be willing to maintain current basic level certifications and an additional 2 advanced certifications.
• OSHA 10 is a plus.
• Position requires carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Must provide suitable transportation for use on job sites – Mileage will be reimbursed.
• Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Observe, test, sample, and inspect materials on construction sites per project requirements.
• Testing Procedures: Conduct routine field tests for soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and steel placement.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations, draft field reports documenting site observations.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; attend project meetings.
