Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Fremont, CA is seeking a Senior Field Applications Engineer to provide technical expertise to semiconductor and life sciences customers, integrating advanced microscopy and analytical solutions into their workflows. You will train users, develop applications, deliver product demonstrations, and collaborate with sales, R&D, and product management to ensure customer success.

Requires a Bachelor's in physics/chemistry/engineering and 8+ years in electron microscopy;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s/PhD strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience with electron microscopy techniques (SEM, FIB/SEM, TEM).
• Ability to train and mentor users on complex instrumentation.
• Experience with data analysis, process optimization, and workflow development.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor processing and failure analysis techniques.

• Build strong customer relationships and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
• Support new product introductions and conduct application development.
• Collaborate with customers to develop solutions as technologies evolve.
• Help customers achieve exceptional results in semiconductor manufacturing, materials analysis, and life sciences research.
