Job summary

AMD is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join the Global Partner Support team in Austin, TX. This hands-on role focuses on debugging GPU and AI software issues across single-node and multi-node environments, with growing ownership as you learn.

You will collaborate with engineers and customers to resolve complex problems, contribute to knowledge bases, and help deploy AI workloads on AMD systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of CPU/GPU architecture concepts and memory hierarchies.
• Experience with Linux systems, debugging tools, and system administration.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C/C++, or Java).
• Experience collaborating with customers/partners and communicating across technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Participate in system-level debugging of GPU, driver, networking, and AI software issues.
• Support post-sales technical engagements with cloud providers, OEMs, ODMs, and enterprise customers.
• Reproduce customer issues in lab environments and analyze logs, core dumps, and performance data.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and validation teams to drive issue resolution and fixes.
• Document debug methodologies and solutions for internal knowledge bases.
• Assist with large-scale cluster bring-up and new product introductions.
• Develop and deliver technical training sessions and collateral.
