Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join our Global Partner Support team. You will work on data center GPUs, the AI software stack, and collaborate with customers to debug and resolve complex issues.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning across hardware, software, and AI workloads, working with partners and internal teams to deliver effective solutions and grow into a trusted technical advisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/EE/CE or related field.
• Experience with Linux, GPUs, and AI workloads.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with GPU platforms (AMD/NVIDIA) and PCIe interconnects.
• Experience with source control (Git).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/C++/Java).
• Ability to work with customers and partners in a technical role.

Responsibilities

• Debug GPU, driver, networking, and AI software issues across single/multi-node systems.
• Support post-sales engagements with cloud providers, OEMs/enterprise customers.
• Reproduce issues in lab environments and analyze logs, core dumps, and performance data to identify root causes.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and validation teams to drive fixes and provide feedback.
• Document debugging methodologies and solutions; contribute to internal knowledge bases.
• Assist with large-scale cluster bring-up and new product deployments for customers.
• Develop and deliver technical training materials on new products and troubleshooting.
