Job summary

ABB is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer to lead electrical power system design and value engineering in the Eastern PA and DE region.

You will partner with consultants, EPCs and end users to specify MV/LV switchgear, switchboards and transformers, and help achieve accepted manufacturer status in projects. You will travel ~10-15% and work in a hybrid model around the Philadelphia area, educating engineers and contractors, presenting technical concepts, and contributing to IEEE papers and

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (Electrical preferred) with strong knowledge of electrical power systems.
• 8+ years in electrical distribution or 4+ years with a master’s degree; PE preferred.
• Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL codes.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical project needs with consultants and end users.
• Provide design assistance, product selection, and value engineering.
• Educate customers on ABB solutions to gain project acceptance.
• Act as local product expert for MV/LV switchgear, transformers, and MCCs.
