Job summary

ABB is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical distribution equipment. You will perform field service on switchgear, breakers, relays, ATS, PLCs, and power management systems across PA and NJ, with some remote engineering work.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical power distribution, strong reading of drawings, and a valid driver’s license. Travel up to 80% and a focus on customer satisfaction are key.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of field service or engineering experience in electrical power distribution systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/control drawings.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 80%.

Responsibilities

• Execute startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on electrical power distribution equipment.
• Perform field service on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, relays, ATS, PLCs, and power management systems.
• Develop electrical drawings, schematics, and bills of material as required.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain relationships.
• Prepare service and commissioning reports and customer documentation.
