Job summary
ABB in the US is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer to serve the Electrification business in Eastern PA and DE.
You will lead technical engagements with consulting engineers, end users, EPCs, and design-build teams, ensuring ABB products meet project specifications. The role requires deep knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, transformers, protection, and arc flash mitigation, plus strong communication skills to educate customers and present complex concepts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of science in engineering, electrical preferred
- PE certification preferred for higher progression
- Experience in electrical distribution and power systems
- Strong communication and public speaking skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers, end users, utilities and EPCs to define project needs and educate on ABB solutions
- Serve as local product expert for MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, and protection systems
- Demonstrate arc flash mitigation concepts and apply design tools to illustrate benefits
- Develop papers for IEEE or industry events to raise ABB awareness
- Provide voice of the customer to product management for new opportunities
