Job summary

ABB is seeking a Sr. Field Application Engineer for the Electrification business in Eastern PA/DE. You will be the technical lead with consultants, end users, EPCs, and design-build customers, ensuring ABB solutions meet project specifications.

Work with MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, and arc flash mitigation. The role is hybrid in the Philadelphia area with 10–15% travel and regular customer visits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering; electrical preferred, 8+ years in electrical distribution.
• MS in engineering with 4+ years acceptable; PE certification preferred.
• Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70E, UL codes.
• Experience in field, plant or design electrical power systems for oil/gas, utilities or industrials.
• Fluent English; strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define electrical project needs with consultants, end-users, utilities and engineers.
• Serve as local product expert for MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, transformers, motor control.
• Demonstrate short circuit, coordination, and arc flash mitigation concepts (SKM/Easy Power).
• Educate customers; public speaking; develop papers for IEEE/conferences to raise awareness.
• Provide voice of the customer to product and commercial leadership.
