Job summary

Northstar Fire Protection is seeking a Field Alarm Superintendent to lead on-site fire alarm installations and ensure safety, scheduling, and code compliance on large projects. You will supervise crews, coordinate with project managers and clients, and manage testing and commissioning readiness.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in the field, strong code knowledge (NFPA/IFC/ADA/UL/IBC/NEC), and proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in commercial fire and life safety leadership.
• Knowledge of local and national fire alarm codes (NFPA, IFC, ADA, UL, IBC, NEC).
• Ability to read and understand drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be 21+.
• OSHA30; NICET preferred; travel to client sites as needed.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site fire alarm installation activities per plans and codes.
• Coordinate with PMs for lookahead planning and reporting.
• Direct field manpower across projects to optimize labor use.
• Maintain safety, QA/QC, and documentation standards.
• Lead pre-testing and system commissioning readiness and inspections.
