Job summary

Dynalectric Company San Diego is seeking a Project Manager - Fire Alarm to lead planning, directing, and coordinating fire alarm construction projects. You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, and implementation, and support field personnel in coordinating with subcontractors to resolve issues as they arise.

The role requires strong project management experience, knowledge of fire alarm systems, and the ability to manage contract documentation and compliance with building codes.

Qualifications

• 5 years of project management experience in commercial new construction.
• NICET II certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred; Bachelor preferred.
• Knowledge of construction industry and contract documentation.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage coordination between trades.
• Design and layout of Fire Alarm Systems.
• Field surveying.
• Drive the project’s overall flow from inception to completion.
• Review contract and bid documents; ensure timely turnover.
• Maintain project documentation including insurance, permits, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Discuss and resolve issues with owners, contractors, and designers.
• Plan and coordinate construction activities to meet deadlines.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Inspect projects for code and regulatory compliance.
• Select subs and equipment suppliers with input from engineering, estimating, and purchasing.
• Distribute drawings to field, create schedule of values, and integrate into the overall schedule.
• Generate purchase orders for equipment and subs; manage delivery timelines.
• Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders on progress and plans.
• Support accounting with monthly billings and collections.
