Job summary

Cable One and Sparklight seek a Senior Solutions Engineer to partner with the sales team, designing and presenting fiber solutions for strategic accounts while serving as a technical SME throughout the sales cycle.

You will translate requirements into long-haul and metro fiber designs, coordinate with internal teams, and contribute to product and deployment plans with a focus on performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical experience in telecom, fiber network construction, or strategic sales engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; associate degree with extensive experience may be considered.
• Proven track record with hyperscalers, data center operators, or major ISPs on national projects.
• Expert knowledge of OSP/ISP engineering and fiber deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead technical consultant and solution architect for strategic accounts.
• Develop long-haul and metro fiber designs with detailed deployment plans.
• Lead technical aspects of RFP/RFI processes and proposals.
• Coordinate with internal teams to validate feasibility, costs, and timelines.
• Maintain knowledge of standards and emerging technologies in fiber builds.
• Create design diagrams, equipment specs, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide training to sales, product, and engineering teams on trends.
• Travel up to 20% as required.
