Job summary

Ledcor is seeking experienced Senior Superintendents to oversee day-to-day field operations on large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects.

The role involves developing project plans, monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with plans, codes and safety programs, and mentoring project staff and fellow superintendents. Travel to multiple states is required as part of site-based work.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
Effective Communication and leadership skills.
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors.
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues.
Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations.
Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules.
Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects.
Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project.
Participates in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
