Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services is seeking experienced Senior Superintendents to oversee day-to-day field operations on large-scale long-haul fiber installation projects. You will develop project plans, monitor performance, and serve as a technical expert to mentor colleagues.

The role demands strong leadership, knowledge of underground fiber installation, and the ability to coordinate subcontractors, schedules, and safety programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications construction as a Superintendent.
• Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline is an asset.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to supervise craft employees and subcontractors.
• Problem-solving abilities and proactive issue management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and practices.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specs, and building codes.
• Lead development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee investigations.
• Review and update construction schedules; address delays and contribute to project timelines.
• Estimate activity durations and material requirements for complex projects.
• Manage financial reporting and tracking for the project.
• Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
