Job summary

Lumos is seeking an OSP Construction Project Engineer to expand our fiber network and ensure projects run safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will supervise contractor performance, resolve field challenges, and drive multiple construction projects from readiness to closeout.

The role requires onsite work across Clark County and Floyd County, IN, with travel to active sites. Strong knowledge of fiber construction, OSHA/NESC compliance, and solid project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in OSP construction, telecommunications engineering, network deployment, or related field operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of aerial, underground, and buried fiber construction, including OSHA and NESC requirements.
• Experience managing contractors and several active construction projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel within the market and between active jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Own multiple OSP builds across the market from construction readiness through closeout.
• Set expectations for contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.
• Track production, schedules, costs, risks, and field progress; provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Inspect active jobsites to ensure work meets standards and codes.
• Coordinate permitting, materials, utilities, municipalities, and other field dependencies.
