Zusammenfassung

Layton Construction seeks a Senior Quality Control Manager to lead the project quality program from preconstruction through closeout. You will be the primary quality contact for government QA staff, interpret plans, drive corrective actions, and coordinate with project management to keep work on schedule and budget.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in QC, DoD/Federal project experience, and a CQM-C certification or ability to obtain it before start.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in the Quality Control industry.
• Ideal candidate will have experience supporting quality control on DoD/Federal construction projects.
• Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification, or the ability to obtain it before start
• Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards, and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and quality control standards.
• Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram.
• Excellent computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
• Highly proactive and responsive to internal and external customers.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.

Aufgaben

• Lead the project Quality Control Plan and ensure compliance with contract and agency standards.
• Drive the three-phase control process (preparatory, initial, follow-up inspections) for all definable work.
• Review submittals for compliance and verify materials against approved submittals.
• Interpret drawings and specifications for constructability and compliance; support RFI and change management.
• Identify nonconforming work and drive corrective actions to resolution.
• Record and document test results; maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Prepare and deliver reports required by project specifications for PMs and clients.
• Coordinate with Site Safety and Health Officer to integrate quality and safety.
• Lead pre-final and final inspections, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
• Coach QC staff and field leadership on quality expectations and lessons learned.
• Stay current on industry standards through publications, seminars, and training.
• Perform additional assignments and special projects as directed.
