Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Quality Control Manager to ensure projects meet company, client, and regulatory quality standards. The role interprets plans, drives corrective actions, prepares submittals, collaborates with inspectors, and partners with project management to keep schedules and budgets on track.

The candidate will maintain rigorous documentation, calibrate measurement tools, and support DoD/Federal projects where applicable. A strong focus on safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in the quality control field.
• Experience supporting QC on DoD/Federal construction projects preferred.
• CQM certification is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes and standards.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and QC standards.
• Ability to interpret instructions written, spoken, or diagrammed.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Execute comprehensive inspections to ensure adherence to plans, specs, and project docs.
• Prepare submittals and collaborate with inspectors and project management.
• Maintain meticulous documentation for audits and reporting.
• Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment; arrange repairs as needed.
• Develop project submittals aligned with plans and specs.
• Lead internal quality calibrations and audits with professionalism.
