Job summary

Rivet Operations Company LLC in the Washington DC area seeks a Mid HR Specialist to support position classification, recruitment, and HR program administration. This role applies established HR principles to resolve moderately complex issues and ensures compliance with federal HR policies.

The successful candidate will analyze classifications, advise managers on workforce alignment, and prepare reports using HRIS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal HR classification or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of OPM classification standards and HR policies.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and automated position description libraries.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides independent classification and position management support, including responsibilities listed in the job description.
• Conducts position evaluations and recommends series/grade/title determinations.
• Reviews classification standards, functional statements, and organizational charts.
• Conducts job analyses and organizational program audits.
• Prepares classification justifications and evaluation statements.
• Advises managers on classification changes and workforce alignment.
• Reviews and analyzes position descriptions for accuracy and compliance with OPM standards.
• Ensures HR actions are processed accurately using automated systems and proper coding.
• Enter and retrieve data from HR systems and prepare standard reports.
