Job summary

Databricks Inc. is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to lead architecture and deliver production‑grade data and AI solutions for government clients. You will own end‑to‑end implementations, including data pipelines, ML/AI models, and client integrations.

The role is hybrid with 20–25% travel to customer sites. Candidates should have 6+ years in data/analytics, cloud experience, and a track record of enterprise delivery within demanding environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Experience with two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing with PySpark, Apache Spark™ and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD for production deployments; Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of performant production end‑to‑end data architectures and applications that combine data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user‑facing interfaces.
• Experience with technical project delivery, documentation and white‑boarding skills; experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and lead design decisions, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.
• Deliver production-grade data and AI solutions, coordinating cross-functional teams and client expectations.
• Lead integration of data ingestion, ML/AI models, and user interfaces in end-to-end deployments.
• Embed with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver measurable business impact.
• Provide feedback to Databricks product teams based on engagement learnings.
