Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to work with federal government customers on data & AI solutions using the Databricks platform. You will own architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development in a hands-on, customer-facing role.

Qualifications

6+ years in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
Fluency writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP) with expertise in at least one.
Deep experience with distributed computing with Apache Spark and Spark internals.
CI/CD for production deployments; familiarity with MLOps and AI APIs.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture and design decisions for production-grade data/AI solutions.
Own end-to-end delivery across data engineering, AI, and application development.
Embed with customer teams and deliver with strong customer empathy.
Travel to customer locations 20–25% for engagement delivery.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and support teams to scale impact across accounts.
