Job summary

Databricks seeks an experienced Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer to lead production-grade data and AI solutions for customers, owning end‑to‑end architecture and design decisions.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer relations to deliver scalable, secure data systems and AI applications. Ideal candidates combine strong engineering skills with customer empathy, adaptability, and a track record of delivering measurable outcomes across complex data projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in Python, Scala or JavaScript/TypeScript with modern frameworks.
• Experience with distributed computing and Spark runtime internals.
• Knowledge of two or more Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with CI/CD for production deployments and MLOps.

Responsibilities

• Lead production-grade solution delivery with reference architectures and end-to-end data/AI components.
• Guide transformational big data projects from design to deployment.
• Embed with customer teams to ensure adoption and measurable outcomes.
• Own architecture decisions ensuring security, scalability and best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to deliver engagements.
• Provide feedback to product/support to accelerate issue resolution.
• Travel to customers about 20% of the time.
• Acquire and apply Databricks certifications as relevant.
